Tartalove
Tartalove is a symbolic adoption campaign for sea turtles admitted to the recovery centers of Legambiente.
The common sea turtle (Caretta caretta) is a widespread species in the waters of the Atlantic, Indian and Pacific Oceans and in the Mediterranean and Black Sea basin. In particular, in the Mediterranean, the spawning sites are Greece, Turkey, Cyprus, Libya, Italy.
The main threats for this species are overbuilding, the degradation of coasts and shorelines and fishing: the turtles, in fact, get stuck and are accidentally caught by trawl nets, longline hooks and fixed nets.
Plastic poses another major threat to sea turtles, which can get suffocated. In addition, the plastic that remains on the beaches can compromise the nesting: the sand in which the mother turtle lays its eggs, in the presence of plastic fragments does not maintain the same humidity and changes the temperature, with consequences on the development of hatching.
Through donations it is possible to treat and save thousands of specimens at risk, monitor the beaches in search of nests to protect, inform people so that they know the right behaviors to adopt to safeguard the well-being of sea turtles.
Together for FBM
Together for FBM is a voluntary organization that aims to help and support the Fundación Benjamín Mehnert in Italy. Its goal is to create awareness, the denunciation of the continuous exploitation of Spanish greyhounds, promote adoptions and raise funds. Independent and Autonomous, no contributions from the Corsican Authority, the Hunting Authority and the Government are received.
In Spain, thousands of Spanish greyhounds (Galgos) are tortured and killed because they are no longer useful for running or hunting. They are raised in flocks, lead a life of hardship forced to deadly training (linked to running vehicles); if unsuitable or not preforming they are tortured and killed: (hanged, thrown, in wells, left in the street with broken legs) or in perrera (kennel), where they are killed or abandoned to a stray life. The work of the Fundación Benjamín Mehnert and at the same time that of IXFBM are fundamental for the recovery and rehabilitation of galgos.
How we help associations
Donations are made through specific collections designed in collaboration with charities or through direct contributions that you can make at the time of your order.
Also through the expedition we support various realities that deal with the restoration of the natural environment such as rainforests: this year for each expedition we offset the CO₂ emissions by financing the conservation project of the Acapa - Bajo Mira y Frontera forest in Colombia.
