Do you know what day it is today?
April 22 is Earth Day 🌍
Yes, it is a day entirely dedicated to celebrating our home, the planet Earth, but also to its protection and safeguard.
In 1969 during the San Francisco UNESCO Conference, activist McConnell proposed a day to celebrate the life and beauty of the Earth and to promote peace. For him, the celebration of life on Earth also meant warning all men of the need to preserve and renew the threatened ecological balance, on which all life on the planet depends.
The first and official "Earth Day" was March 21, 1970 in San Francisco.
Why is it so important to protect planet Earth?
We know well what disasters mankind is causing, just think of how we are in a phase called the Anthropocene: a geological age in which the human being with his activities manages to affect geological processes with territorial and structural changes and climatic.
Saving the Earth is no longer just an option, it's a necessity.
Each of us can make a difference in our little daily actions. 🌱
The first driver of change is knowledge, we share information and take refuge, inspiring each other. 🪁
